Job Description:

The patient support agent or associate in Fusion CX Kolkata will interact with patients via phone, offering a clear overview of the prescribed diagnostic tests. The jobs of patient support agents also include collecting and verifying the demographic and insurance information of the patients. Finally, these reps must arrange the shipment of testing devices efficiently. They will report to patient support managers. This role catering to customers of healthcare clients requires computers, technology, customer service, and telecommunication skills to offer an excellent patient experience. The duties and responsibilities of an agent include:

Patient Scheduling: Schedule patients for testing using the required application or software.

Inbound and Outbound Calls: Answer inbound calls from patients, physician offices, and DME companies. Place outbound calls to patients, physician offices, and DME companies.

Insurance Verification: Obtain and verify insurance information from patients.

Patient File Management: Update patient files with corrected insurance and demographic information as a patient support agent.

Order Management: Handle incomplete orders, physician updates, device delivery calls, and collections-related patient calls, call regarding lost devices and patient calls required from the applications or software.

Payment Processing: Process patient payments using the required applications/software.

Test Order Validation: Process and validate test orders received using the required applications/software.

Cross-Training: Provide support in Practice Support as needed.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Standards

Education: A high school education or equivalent is required for the Kolkata patient support position.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of customer service and/or medical scheduling experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Grooming: All agents or representatives must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance by the client’s standards.

Qualities & Attributes

  • Proficient in MS Internet Explorer, Excel, and various MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to speak clearly on the telephone and in a professional phone manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent production.
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours to meet the requirements of the client.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer as needed.
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for a few hours as required for the patient support agent role.
