Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members regarding healthcare-related inquiries.
  • Respond to incoming calls and written communications concerning benefits, eligibility, referrals, claims, and related healthcare services.
  • Investigate customer concerns, identify root causes, and provide accurate resolutions.
  • Explain available options and guide members through solutions with patience and professionalism.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to management or appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Maintain ownership of customer inquiries through resolution while ensuring a positive experience.
  • Consistently achieve established performance goals for quality, productivity, attendance, and schedule adherence.
  • Utilize departmental policies, procedures, and job aids to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Document interactions thoroughly and accurately within internal systems.
  • Handle high call volumes while maintaining exceptional service standards and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support timely issue resolution and member satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required; healthcare, insurance, or contact center experience preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting Medicare or healthcare benefit programs strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex customer situations.
  • Excellent active listening, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to communicate compassion, empathy, and professionalism during every interaction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills preferred.
  • Experience within healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or related industries highly desirable.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
  • Proficiency with data entry, email, and standard computer applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrated success in high-volume customer service environments.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and strong customer engagement skills required.

Work Schedule

  • Location: Spindale, North Carolina
  • Work Mode: In-Office
  • Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday
  • Availability Required: Flexible to work an 8-hour shift between 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM
