About the Role

As a Healthcare Collections Specialist at Fusion CX, you will act as a liaison between healthcare providers in Southern California and insurance carriers responsible for covering medical treatment under workers’ compensation. You will review outstanding medical bills, investigate unpaid claims, verify authorization and billing information, identify reasons for payment delays or denials, and follow up with insurance companies to resolve claim issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned clinic or healthcare project in Southern California.
• Review outstanding medical billing cases and investigate unpaid claims.
• Identify reasons for payment delays or denials, including authorization and billing discrepancies.
• Communicate with insurance carriers and claims adjusters to resolve claim issues and facilitate payment.
• Verify authorization, billing, and claim information before each follow-up.
• Accurately document every action, insurance carrier response, and next step in the case record.
• Meet collections, follow-up, and quality targets for the assigned portfolio.

Job Requirements:

• English Proficiency: C1 – Advanced, spoken and written.
• Age and Identification: Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid DUI.
• Education: Completed high school diploma.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months of contact center experience, preferably in healthcare, medical billing, insurance, or collections.
• Computer Skills: Ability to navigate the web, work across multiple windows and systems simultaneously, use email, and work with Microsoft Office or Google tools.
• Typing and Written Communication: Functional typing skills and strong written English. The minimum words-per-minute requirement is to be confirmed with Operations.
• Schedule: Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as required by the operation.
• Training: Availability to complete initial training with 100% attendance.
• Medical Billing Review: Ability to review medical bills, authorizations, and claim information to identify payment discrepancies.

• Familiarity with medical billing terminology, including EOBs, CPT/ICD codes, claim denials, and authorizations.
