About the Role
As a Global Travel Desk Team Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of the Global Travel Desk, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and policy-compliant travel arrangements across regions. You will be accountable for team performance, service quality, vendor coordination, and continuous process improvement while acting as the primary escalation point for complex travel needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage the Global Travel Desk team to meet defined SLAs and KPIs
- Oversee end-to-end domestic and international travel arrangements for employees and executives
- Handle complex, executive, group, and urgent travel requests with accuracy and discretion
- Ensure compliance with company travel policies and global travel regulations
- Act as the escalation point for travel disruptions, changes, and emergencies
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Coordinate with airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and external vendors
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and process improvements
- Prepare and present reports on travel spend, operational performance, and service metrics
- Support onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of team members
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in corporate travel management or travel desk operations
- 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong exposure to international travel management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong people management and coaching capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Data-driven mindset with reporting and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and travel management systems
- Experience with GDS tools (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo) is an advantage
- Willingness to work flexible schedules if required
