Sales Director- Business Development Manager – Telecom and Utilities

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Sales Business Development Manager / Sales Director BDM for a major Telecom client to drive business growth, forge strategic partnerships, and expand our customer base within the utility sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust sales background, proven business development expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of the Utility industry. This role is pivotal in developing strategic plans, identifying new business opportunities, and leading our sales efforts to achieve revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets within the utility sector.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, establishing and nurturing relationships with utility companies, regulators, and industry associations.
  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to understand emerging trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in the utility industry.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions and tailor offerings to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Sales Negotiation: Lead the negotiation and closure of sales agreements, ensuring favorable and mutually beneficial terms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Industry Insight: Leverage potential risks and opportunities and stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Brand Representation: Act as a company ambassador at industry events to enhance brand visibility and forge strong industry relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, promoting a culture of high performance and alignment with organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Proven track record in sales and business development within the utility sector.
  • Utility Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and customer needs.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a knack for building long-term relationships.
  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies, achieving revenue targets and business growth.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to identify market opportunities and devise innovative solutions.
  • Drive and Motivation: Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Leadership: Experience leading a sales team and motivating members towards common goals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in telecommunications within a leading player is highly valued.
